Over the last decade, the use of briquettes in industrial boilers has steadily increased. Millions of tons of agricultural waste are produced annually, often going unused or being inefficiently burned, which pollutes the air. Due to their low bulk density, these materials are difficult to handle.
However, converting them into high-density fuel briquettes without chemical binders makes them an effective energy source.Biomass briquettes, primarily made from agricultural wastes like rice husk and crushed nut shells, serve as a cleaner substitute for coal.
These briquettes are used for electricity generation, heating, and even cooking. The process involves gathering, cleaning, and drying agricultural waste, then compressing it into cylindrical briquettes to maximize burning efficiency and simplify transportation and storage.Since biomass briquettes lack chemical adhesives and have low carbon content, they are superior to traditional fuels and have minimal net greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuels.
